Suite Precure END
My relationship with Suite is a little weird. Heartcatch was the first season I watched as it aired and I was just so SALTY when it was announced that the next one would be a whole new cast. Even knowing that Sailor Moon of all people would be voicing one of the characters didn't help at all. I remember specifically watching the first episode and just being so derisive of every. single. thing. It was a bad look. I actually stopped watching Suite all together around the 12-episode mark and really all anime?? (you can see me getting really into Glee on this very site) I didn't pick it back up until after Smile was airing and just had to marathon the other 30ish episodes. The movie though left a huge impression. Just... *chef's kiss*
Fast forward a whole decade and while I can't say that Suite is my fave, I've definitely changed my opinion of it. For one thing, I love Hummy!!! omg she tries so hard ಥ◡ಥ When she just launched herself into Noise I cried real tears. I still really enjoyed the early Hibi/Kana bits and I guess it kinda showed? I wish I could've drawn more with them but I was really aware that if I tried to craft any kind of narrative, it'd just overtake everything and I didn't wanna do that..... I still loved their relationship tho. Kinda tsun, kinda married (ღ˘◡˘ღ) This was also the first season where they actually befriended the final boss? (i don't really count Heartcatch) and that whole final battle was just really nice. Hummy launching herself into Noise and singing for him made me cry real tears ಥ◡ಥ Her arc with Siren was also really good ♥ Basically MVP of the year, Hummy. I love this cat.
